Supatt has a unique construction from the beginning.
Why Mikuni has been keeping this construction??

Please check above photos which are inner side of DS-210(left),WS-110(right).
Sharpen surface is X shape and Knife edge through the center of X then, the edge is sharpened up from edge side to top with set up angle.
On the other hand, almost other manufacturers adopt
"Roll Stone Construction".
Please see illustration here under. This construction is combained two pices of tops with shaft and rotate depending on knife edge movement.
And Knife edge is sharpened up on "Sharpen up surface".

First, Roll stone and Flat stone are at same stage that Whetstone powder is put into the mold and heated up then each stone come out.
The roll stone comes up "adding shaft" and assembly process, very easy and short time.However,
Sharpen up surface is unevenness, do not polish up, which affects edge line.
Flat stone is added grined, polished and cut for fixed measurment,that is cost up elements.
We have not to sacrifice "accurate of edge line".
This is the reason, Keeping this construction from the beginning.
